Recently, I was talking to a friend about burglars and how they operate. My friend was under the impression that burglars only break into houses at night. This is apparently a common belief that many of us have. So is it true?
Here is the answer in one word. No. Burglaries are NOT most common at night. In fact, burglaries are most common in the daytime when many people are at work. Not only do statistics show this, but it's also backed up by a bit of common sense. Wouldn't burglars rather break in when they think nobody is home? If you are looking to break in without anyone seeing you, breaking in at night would be the last thing you'd want to do.
Now, I should emphasize that although it doesn't make a lot of sense to break into a home at night, burglars still do. In fact, a burglary can happen any time of day and it's important to keep your home protected with one of the many home security systems that are out on the market. It is important to protect your house, your family, and your belongings.
Some people think they didn't need to look into getting a security system. Like my first friend, they probably think that burglaries only happen at night. In addition, they think they could defend their home themselves. But how can they defend their home if they're at work during the day? Even if someone were to break in at night, an alarm wouldn't hurt.
In closing, if you don't have one, look into some of the home security systems available. They can protect your home day or night. They can guard your home when you are there and when you are not. They can summon help should you run into any trouble.
